The Veritas Pro Taper Reamer is a woodworking tool designed for creating and refining tapered holes used in traditional mortice and tenon joinery. It is particularly well suited to chairmaking, where tapered sockets allow tenons to be wedged securely for strong, long-lasting joints.

Designed for use in a traditional two-jaw hand brace, the reamer offers excellent control while producing smooth, accurate cuts. The cutting depth can be adjusted to suit both softwoods and hardwoods, while the blade angle can be fine-tuned to achieve the ideal fit between the tenon and socket.

The cast steel alloy body has an included angle of 12.8°, matching the taper produced by Veritas Tapered Tenon Cutters, making it an excellent choice for creating chair-leg socket joints and other tapered joinery.
