A Veritas small bevel-up smoothing plane.
This low angle smoothing plane is slightly shorter than the most common sized number 4 smoothing plane and larger than a traditional sized number 3 smoothing plane.
The plane is used for the same jobs as any other smoothing plane; final finishing work on pieces of joinery and carpentry as well as end-grain work and shooting mitres.
The plane is made with a fully stress-relieved, machined and surface ground ductile cast iron body giving a plane with flat sides and sole made from a material which is more durable than traditional grey-iron planes.
This small bevel-up plane is fitted with a rich hardwood rear handle and front knob.
The plane is fully adjustable with a Norris style blade depth and lateral adjuster, as well as an adjustable mouth.
The plane has an adjustable stop-screw in the throat that allows you to open the mouth fully such as when the blade is removed for sharpening, and then quickly return the mouth back to its previous position.
The supplied 44mm wide blade has bevel of 25° and comes in the highly acclaimed PM-V11 alloy steel.
