Ray Iles Premium Froe - 10 Inch

This old style, British made Ray Iles Froe has a 10" blade made from EN9 spring steel with a 14" beech handle.

The premium froe is simular to our standard 10" froe, the main difference being the canals have been gently curved, making it easier to use, particularly when first entering the wood. As with the large froe, it is tapered from top to bottom, with a tapered eye and 14" beech shaft. The shaft had been treated with raw linseed oil and as with all of our beech handles, we recommend further applications from time to time, to improve the durability and appearance of the wood.

A Froe is generally used for cleaving / splitting wood, but where more accuracy is required.
