- A lovely little Lee Valley Round Spokeshave, a modern version spokeshave based on the popular vintage Edward Preston shave.
- Established in 1825, Edward Preston & Sons, Ltd. crafted some of the finest tools of the Victorian era. Lee Valley have made a close replica of their model 1374 round-bottomed spokeshave that captures both the elegance and effectiveness of the original design.
- Made from investment-cast stainless steel with a 16mm radius sole.
- 3/8" wide, 3/32" thick blade is made from PM-V11 alloy, a popular, high quality blade used in many Veritas Planes.
- Blade has a 30° bevel and is secured with a thumbscrew and cap iron.
- Measuring just 6 3/4" in length, this spokeshave is smaller than the usual size, making it ideal for precise smoothing and shaping. Its tight mouth opening minimizes tear-out, while the 5/8" radius sole is perfect for working on tight curves. The raised handles ensure your hands stay clear of the work surface.
