A thick and rigid Sheffield made Clifton plane iron / blade to fit Clifton No. 3 bench planes.
This Clifton 3 Plane Blade is constructed from specially cryogenically treated 01 steel which has been hardened and tempered to 60-62 Rockwell C and finally precision ground.
The cryogenic process creates an edge which stays sharper for longer than most plane irons.
Each blade is individually checked for hardness.
The blade / iron has been embossed with the legendary Clifton, Sheffield name.
These blades are approximately 1.5mm thicker than most bench plane blades.
