 Primarily used for cutting rebates or rabbets. Its design allows for different configurations, offering the functionality of both a bullnose and regular rebate plane. Woodworkers use it to create precise and clean shoulder cuts along the edges of wood, essential in joinery work such as forming joints, fitting panels, or creating recesses for door and window frames. The adjustable fence and depth gauge enable accurate adjustments, allowing craftsmen to control the depth and width of the cut whilst the spur scores the wood prior to the blade to give a clean efficient cut.
