The Skew Registration Jig for Veritas Mk.II Honing Guide System is designed to make sharpening skew chisels and skew plane blades fast, accurate and repeatable. The jig locks securely into the Veritas Mk.II Honing Guide System, allowing you to quickly set both skew angles and bevel angles for precise sharpening.
The Jigs machined aluminium base features clearly laser-etched skew angle graduations from 10° to 45°, marked in 5° increments for easy setup. Additional markings at 18°, 22° and 28° accommodate the common angles found on many skew plane blades.
The base includes four dedicated bevel angle tracks (20°, 25°, 30° and 35°), making it simple to set consistent sharpening angles for woodworking chisels and plane blades. When paired with the honing guide’s eccentric roller axle, you can easily add a micro-bevel for improved cutting performance and edge durability.
A sliding fence with integrated blade stop allows you to visually match an existing skew angle, even when working with non-standard angles. This makes the jig especially useful for restoring or maintaining specialised woodworking tools.
The Veritas Skew Registration Jig is designed for use with the standard clamping head of the Veritas Mk.II honing guide, the jig provides a reliable and repeatable solution for sharpening skew chisels, skew plane irons and woodworking blades. Please note it is not compatible with the narrow-blade clamping head, whose parallel jaws are not intended for skew sharpening.
Manufactured in Canada, this accessory delivers the precision expected from Veritas tools.
