• 4 piece set of Narex cryogenic Richter mortice chisels.
  
• The sides of the mortice chisel blades are subtly tapered to reduce friction against the sidewalls and to aid adjustments during cutting.
• ash wood handle, sanded and polished
• forged from high quality Cr-V steel, cryogenically treated and tempered to at least 62 HRc
  
• fully fine ground, sharpened and polished
  
• Handle is fitted with two solid stainless steel hoops one to striking end of chisel handle, designed to endure heavy mallet strikes without damage or splitting to handle with another ferule and leather washer between blade and handle.
• Set comprises of: 1/8″ (3mm), 1/4″ (6mm) , 3/8″ (10mm), 1/2″ (13mm).

Right after initial hardening, cryogenic treatment cools the steel down to very low temperatures by using liquid nitrogen to as low as −190 °C. This completes transformation of austenite, which increases both the hardness and toughness of the steel.
