The Andy King precision striking knife is a new tool developed by IBC and Andy King - the 'Good Woodworking' magazine editor.
The striking knife is used for precision layout work including marking dovetail joints.
The knife can be used as a marking knife / scribing knife or it can be struck to form a small groove for a chisel or saw to begin accurate cuts.
The striking tool has an arrow-head shaped blade which is made from high vanadium AISI A2 tool steel, hardened to 58-60 HRC, double temper and cryogenically treated. All-in-all this makes for a blade with excellent edge retention.
The blade features a 25 degree bevel-edge which mimics the arrow-head profile on one side only.
The Andy King striking knife is fitted with a beautiful American black walnut handle which has been shaped for comfort.
The Andy King striking knives can be used left-handed or right-handed.
