Product Description

A 2-piece cap iron to fit most makes of metal No 8 bench planes, including a Stanley No 8, and a Record No 08. The two-piece Cap Iron produced as part of the Clifton range reduces cutting iron 'chatter'. The extra thickness and the hinged joint mean that the cutting iron is rigidly clamped to the frog and fully supported along its width, close to the mouth.
